What a top day - after 5 windsurf sessions in 6 days it was time to get the bikes out:) We packed a picnic, then Mag and I set off down to the prom - great to see so many people enjoying the sunshine on the beach. At The Dip we turned onto the prom and met some old friends down at their beach hut, Alison and her son Ed who has just turned 21:) so we sat on the beach for ages chatting while watching the Ferry Sailing club having fun in their dinghies right in front of us. After checking out the Ferry jetty we went on the bumpy riverside path past the houseboats and met a old boy birdwatcher who we chatted to last week and he said he had seen a Bittern :) At the lovely Kings Fleet we headed inland stopping for an hour on one of the fishing platforms for our picnic, read our books and watching swan wars as two families square up! Refreshed we continued past Falkenham to Kirton then to Trimley and down Grimston Lane coming out by the River Orwell near Loompit lake where several old sailing barges were jockeying for position in the light airs for what looked like the start of a race, we sat on our favourite cliff seat watching the action:) Then it was along the river path to Trimley marshes past Felixstowe docks and home - we must have been out 5 hours!!! great day:)

PS - out with my new Fuji X-S1 camera after breaking my much used and loved old one on our latest trip to France - love it, top camera :)
